Tone Mapping Operators

Perceptual Validation Experiment

This page is the entry point of the tone mapping perceptual evaluation experiment. Also ideal viewing condition will not be reproduced, if you decide to watch the images we used, please take time to adjust your monitor.
The raw scene data saved in Radiance RGBE format is available to download, note that the Stanford Memorial church courtesy of Paul Debevec can be found, here, and the outdoor panorama is made available by SpheronVR.

Screen calibration: Calibrate your screen to view the images; Save your current screen settings since the following setup is not good for everyday use.
It is better to use an SGI station, and turn off the lights. You have to set Contrast to maximum or close.
In the following chart, you need to be able to read the number 2. Adjust brightness settings until you are able to read 2, add a little bit of dark until the tile around the number is barely visible. It means you can distinguish values between black and 99% grey.
Set you browser size to full screen and switch off the personal toolbar.
